Fire Suppression Recertification for a West African Mine

In order to comply with OEM regulations as well as manufacturers specifications, Fire Suppression Systems must be revalidated every 10 years. Typically, this process would require the decommissioning and removal the suppression system cylinders from site and sending them to a revalidation facility where the cylinders would be emptied, pressure tested, refilled, and returned to the site.

As this is an operational mine, our client could not permit their site to be left unprotected for more than 3 hours at a time, so the FS Group was tasked to find a practical and cost-effective solution that would fulfill the mine’s operational requirements and budget expectations.

Watch how our team was able to complete the physical installation of the cylinders, containing 1 372 kg of FM200 gas, in only 6 days.
